Pinterest Recipe

I signed up to get a Pinterest account a few months ago and then received the email to sign up.  But didn't.  So the other day I decided I would just snoop around on there and I found this fabulous recipe!  I fed it to the family and some friends last night and they LOVE IT!  Now I would love to credit the person that I got the recipe from on Pinterest but uhm I don't know what the heck I am doing on Pinterest.  Here's the recipe from Pinterest:

1 bag of frozen chicken 2.5 - 3 lbs.
1 can black beans
1 can corn
1 can Rotel
1 package cream cheese

Put the chicken in first and then dump all the rest of the ingredients on top.

Cook on low for 6-8 hours.

Then shread the chicken.

It said to serve over rice or on a tortilla.

Here are a few quick tips from me:  before you shread the chicken, there is alot of broth.  I ladled out a couple of scoops and then shreaded the chicken, otherwise I think it would have been really really runny.

I served this on tortillas with cheese, sour cream & salsa.

Also my kids had said they had wanted more corn & beans.  So I would probably added 2 cans each of everything or cut the chicken in half...it does make alot!

Yum!

So.  I have gotten some Norwex items.   They were delivered last night.  I pulled out the Cleaning Paste last night in hopes that my white porcelain sink (which ironically I had mentioned to Brian about a month ago..had to go..it looked like crap.  crap I tell ya) But at the party the lady had pictures of her while porcelain sink ..with before and after photos...photos that showed her sink looking brand spanking new.  Okay.  Fine I thought, it's certainly cheaper than sink and a lot less work.   So I dip my fancy new Norwex cloth into the cleaning paste and started rubbing it on my sink.  And the next thing you know I was jumping up and down and started crying..okay maybe not crying, but I was all like Brian you have to see this....my sink looks awesome.  Now there are a few black marks that just won't come off.  But the improvement is short of a miracle.  I only did a section of the sink, but can't wait to do the rest!!  So fun!  Yeah for cleaning...ha.

Then this morning, I had Brian help me pull out all the furniture and use my new Norwex mop.  Hello.  Why are all other mops like 12 inches across...this Norwex mop is like 24 inches across...it is fabulous.  Brian even used it.  Yep it's true, I should have taken a picture, but you will just have to take my word for it!

I have my dryer ball in the dryer as we speak, hope those babies work well too..I will keep you posted!

I didn't get the window cloth.  Hannah said it worked awesome.  So that will be my next Norwex purchase!  Can't wait.

After all this cleaning I need a nap.

Love,

A new Norwex fan.

Ellery's Art

It was so nice out the other night we walked over to Wagner for the Art Fair.

There were lots of fun things to look at.

Ellery is big into peace signs these days, so it wasn't hard to believe that her art featured a peace sign!

She made a few other fun items as well, but this was my favorite~it is just so her.

Prayers...

Sending up some extra prayers for some very special family and friends these days.  The simple things that overwhelm me most days are NOTHING compared to some of the challenges in others lives.  So be thankful.  Thankful for your health, your family, your job, and even your messy kids!

Among the family and friends I pray for, I also have been keeping these people in my prayers as well:

You have to have a Caring Bridge log in to access her site.  She is a friend of a friend.  She needs a heart transplant and possible kidney as well...

Jack Jablonski, the 16 year old hockey player from the Twin Cities....

Gage Driver, that has been through more than a 7 year old should have to...

So give your kids an extra little kiss tonight.  Life is very precious!

Storage Wars

Wanna know what we do on Thursday night after a long day at school and work?

Well first we eat supper.

Then we clean up supper.

Then we do homework..scratch that.

We all headed to the couch and are wacthing Storage Wars.

Seriously our favorite show!

Our favorite part of the show is when they have found good/valuable stuff in the storage lockers and then take them to experts to see what they are worth.  We all try to guess what the stuff is worth!

Our favorite person on the show:  Barry!
(he's the old guy with glasses in the photo below)

YUP!

Okay, so after the show it is onto homework!!

Sometimes you just need to put that homework and housework aside and relax!

Miss Ellery

Ellery was making a poster for school.  Calvin was making a poster because Ellery was.   Brian was on the computer and I was watching the Bachelor.

Ellery comes in about halfway through the show and plops down on the couch.  At this point in the show it was some previews of the next half of the show to come...they showed the girls getting the rose and Ellery says...oh that is my favorite part of the show. Then they show a scene with the girls in the pool...in itty bitty bikinis and Brian chimes in and says..oh that is my favorite part of the show.   Ellery immediately says  'oh that is because you are just jealous those girls can swim'.  Yep Ellery that is why Dad loves those parts of the show...it can't be the itty bitty bikinis.  I was dying.  I love the innocence of that girl.   Love her.

#13

Calvin.  Loves Hockey.

He gives it his all on the ice and it just so much fun to watch him progress.

He had a Jamboree this weekend in Richmond, which consisted on 3 scrimmages!  He had 5 goals the first day and four the second day!  He was so excited to receive his medal!

I see many many more of these weekend in our future!

Brrrrrrrrrrrr.  Need a butt warmer and some cuddle duds!

You want the truth...

This is my favorite photo of the entire trip...for sooo many reasons.
But lets back up a bit...this was day three of the trip...I think

Location:  Magic Kindom
Ride:  It's A Small World
Time:  I'd say around 9:30pm or later

We tried to get the most out of every moment of Disney World.
On this day we arrived at Magic Kingdom around 10:30 or 11.

We rode rides ALL DAY LONG until we took the monorail to the Polynesian to eat dinner at around 5:00...at the Spirit of Aloha Show.  I danced on stage.  Picture that.  Enough said.

So after the show we took the monorail back to Magic Kindom (that night were the extended magical hours for on premise guests).

We watched the magical light show parade and it was well magical.

Anyway onto the photo.

Why did we go back to the park after dinner you ask, because we couldn't get enough.  Give us more magic!!  So we went on a few more rides, the last of which, before we took this photo was, Splash Mountian.  This was Calvins favorite ride.  The word 'splash' should be enough of a hint that yes, yes you may get really wet if you sit in the front car.  Yep me..in the front car, soaked...Disney is just so magical.

So with soaked pants, hair and everything inbetween, we continued on with the rides.

AND FOUND

It's A Small World

This ride has been around FOREVER.  It is a must - do - classic at Disney World.  So WE DID IT!

Go ahead look it up on Wikipedia.

You will find out that this ride is FIFTEEN minutes long (but in our case it was more like 25 minutes or so ...traffic jam in the Small World) with that magical tune It's A Small World played over and OVER and over and OVer again, at a volume so loud you can barely talk to the person next to you.  Which I think is smart because if you could talk to the person next to you, you might say, hey the water we are riding in is only 12 inches deep, lets jump ship and get the H E double hockey sticks out of here.

Back to the photo.

This family classic photo was taken about 10 minutes into the ride.

Go head take a look.

The pictures says it all.

New Years

Well New Years didn't go as planned.  We had planned on having some friends over to ring in the new year..play some games, pool, eat & have a few beverages.  BUT...Hannah ended up getting sick the day before and found herself in the ER.    So bummer for her, but we figured we would still have people over and the kids could watch a movie upstairs...so that was the plan!  So that night I went to St. Cloud with a friend to do some shopping, go out for dinner and see The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (it was an excellent movie btw, but read the book first!!).  I got home around 12:00 to ...yep a sick kid.  Poor Calvin had the flu..so I was up with him until about 5:30am.  So cancel all New Years party plans and sign me up for a nap!

We spent the day napping and watching movies.  Later that evening, we watched more movies, played some wii & Sorry & cracked open our bottle of sparkingling red grape juice!  We did the toast earlier in the evening, because I could tell Calvin wouldn't make it to midnight and I was right, around 11:15 he crashed.  So Brian, Ellery and I watched the ball drop and rang in the new year!!

Happy New Year!!

Here is the happy family around 7pm.  Brian is napping, the kids are playing Wii (Elle is trying NOT to be in the photo)
