MOTY.

Because I can't watch my children 24/7, they caught the end of Jaws. I don't even know which Jaws it was. I do know it was the one where he blows up the tank in Jaws mouth and as he does he says 'Smile you son of a #$#%% (because it was on TV they said Bucket instead)'. I know this because I heard them upstairs saying to each other 'Smile you son of a Bucket'. I listened a bit more and sure enough they were saying it to each other and laughing hysterically. So I called them downstairs and asked them where they had heard that. And they explained what I had mentioned above, catching the end of the movie. I told them it wasn't something we should be saying because 'bucket' was a replacement for a bad word in that saying, a bad 'b' word. Calvin asked if is was 'butthead' to which I replied yes (I mean why tell them what it really was if I don't have to...right?) that was the bad word and we can't be saying any longer. I haven't heard it since, but I am sure it will pop again some day at one of the inopportune times, like church or oh in front of their teacher.

A nursery rhymes by Calvin and Mom:

Mom: One, two buckle my
Calvin: Shoe

Mom: Three, four shut the
Calvin: Door

Mom: Five, six pick up
Calvin: Sticks

Mom: Seven, eight lay them
Calvin: Straight

Mom: Nine, ten a big fat
Calvin: Chicken

Love that boy...oh right up until he pick up my tweezers and pinched Ellery in the back with them. I asked him why he did it and he just couldn't come up with a good reason, not that I was expecting one. I mean what kind of a reason can you give that would excuse that. Straight. To. Bed. after that one.

So lucky.

I am so lucky to have a job that is 10 blocks away from my home and super flexible to boot. I am even more lucky that I work Monday and Tuesday til 3 and get to pick up the kids from the bus stop by my work! I love watching them get off the bus and come trudging through the snow to tell me all about their exciting day!

In the above photo Elle is turning back looking at her pokey brother, this is exactly what happens on a daily basis. He had no cares in the world, while his sister has every step planned out and she hates when he messes with her plans.

Go Gophers.

We took the kids to their first MINNESOTA Gopher Hockey game. They were in awe of the huge arena. Ellery was so into the game...Calvin not so much, he was more interested in the snacks. We had some really good seats... we got hot off the street =) Section 5, Row 3, right by the blue line! They loved to watch the guys slam into to the boards and they were right there, their eyes were popping out of their heads! So much fun, we will be doing that again soon!

Oh Boy.

This is my boy sitting on the couch with a pair of kabob sticks pretending he is knitting. I think he has been spending too much time with his Grandma Shirley.

#29

Ellery was honorary captain a few weeks ago. She & three other teammates get to warm up with the girls varsity team, go into the locker room and then get their names announced at the opening ceremony. Just a fun night all around for my number twenty nine!
