So on Monday..Ellery, Cal and I went up to register Ellery for dance and go visit Hannah and Grandma Shirley who happen to work in the same building as community ed, but up on the second floor. I was hoping to find a nice close parking spot in the front parking spaces. There we no spaces, so as I was pulling out to go across to the parking lot, Calvin pointed to an empty spot and said why don't you park there. I told him that was a Handicap Parking spot. He asked what that meant, so trying to make it brief, I just told him it was someone who had a hard time walking, and so they need to park closer to the building. Okay so fine, that satisfied him.
So we hop out of the car and head across the street. Now prior to us looking for a parking spot, I saw a younger woman walking with a walker down by the nursing home, which happens to be right next door to the social services building. Just as we get across the street, Cal exclaims and POINTS 'Hey Mom, look there's a Handicap', I turn to look and low and behold, yep there is that same lady, who I am praying did not hear Calvin. And then Ellery turns to Calvin, whipping her hand on her hip and says: 'We don't talk about Handicaps out loud Calvin'.
Oh heaven help me.
